Head-on Car Accident with Entrapment on Logan Ferry Road

At ~6:55 AM, Westmorland 911 dispatched Station 20 9Murrysville Volunteer Fire Company) for a 2-car head-on automobile accident with entrapment in the vicinity of Logan Ferry and Gun Club Road. Station 20 responded with Rescue 20 (4 firefighters including Lieutenant 20) with 2 additional firefighter on standby at Station 20. Assisting Rescue 20 were Rescue 64, Rescue 78, and Rescue 236. Murrysville Medic One and multiple police departments were on the scene upon the arrival of Rescue 20. Station 20 firefighters assisted by the other responding fire companies and Murrysville Medic One extracted the driver of the westbound car using the hydraulic extraction tools, remediated a large amount of fluids leaking from both vehicles, and cleared the debris from the roadway after the Murrysville Police had finished their accident investigation. The entrapped driver was transported by Murrysville Medic One to a local hospital, and both vehicles were removed from the scene by Wally's Towing Service. After the vehicles were removed, Murrysville Police released Rescue 20 for return to station.
