Multi-Vehicle Auto Accident - School Road North

At ~1:52 PM, Westmorland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a 2-vehicle auto accident on School Road North near West Windover and Foxwood Courts. Station 20 responded with Rescue 20 (3 firefighters), Engine 20 (1 firefighter), Squad 20 (1 firefighter [Sergeant 20]), with Chief 20 going directly to the scene, and 3 additional firefighters at Station 20 incase additional equipment or personnel were needed at the scene. Westmorland 911 also dispatched the following stations to assist Station 20: Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One), Station 78 (Sardis VFC), Station 64 (White Valley VFD), and Station 170 (Monroeville #4). The Murrysville Police and Murrysville Road Department also responded to the call. Chief 20 established command of the scene for the combined rescue operation. The combined Fire/Rescue and EMS Crews extricated both drivers from the vehicles, and loaded the patients into the ground ambulances. One driver was taken to a local trauma center by Medic One. The 2nd driver was taken by ground ambulance to Station 20, where Station 20 and 170 firefighters operated a Helicopter Landing Zone for a STAT Medevac Aerial Ambulance to take the patient to a Pittsburgh Trauma Center. Once the drivers were extricated, the combined firefighter crews remediated fluids leaking from the vehicles and cleared the roadway of any vehicular debris. After Gombach Towing removed the vehicles from the scene, and the roadway was clear, Chief 20 released all units and personnel for return to service and station.
