At 8:06 AM, Westmorland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for an Automatic Fire Alarm (AFA) at a home on Trouthaven Drive. Station 20 responded with Truck 20 (4 firefighters), with Chief 20 and Assistant Chief 20 going directly to the scene. Also dispatched to support Station 20 were: Station 22 (Export VFC), Station 78 (Sardis VFC), and Station 64 (White Valley VFC). A call from the homeowner indicated a false alarm, so Chief 20 cancelled all units except for Truck 20. Upon Truck 20 arrival at the scene, it was found that a low battery in a smoke detector had activated the AFA System. Chief 20 returned Truck 20 to service and station.
