During the morning of 15 May 2019, firefighters from the Murrysville Volunteer Fire Company (Station 20) trained 30 staff members from the Murrysville Rehabilitation and Wellness Center on the proper procedures for using a fire extinguisher in a fire emergency. The training including procedures for approaching a fire with a fire extinguisher, and thenextinguishing a fire by using the PASS Technique (P - Pull the fire extinguisher safety pin; A - Aim the fire extinguisher; S - Squeeze the fire extinguisher's handle; and S - Sweep the base of the fire). Training the Center's staff members on the proper use of a fire extinguisher helps to increase the safety of the residents of Murrysville Rehabilitation and Wellness.
