At ~ 4:37 PM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a report of flooding along Sardis Road due to a severe rain storm. Station 20 responded with Captain 20 and Assistant Chief 20 going directly to the scene, Engine 20 (4 firefighters) responding from a previous call, and an additional firefighter manning the station. Captain 20 was first on scene, and found Sardis Road between Hickory Hill Road and Bryson Court flooded in several locations, with a washout debris field near the Murrysville Apartments. The flooding/debris locations were relayed to the Murrysville Public Works Department, and Squad 20 (2 firefighters) was dispatched to the debris field near the Murrysville Apartments to place traffic cones on the debris field until the Public Works Department could arrive to clear the roadway. Captain 20 released all Station 20 units for return to service and station.
