At ~6:13 PM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a 2-vehicle collision on Trafford Road, just north of Lyons Run Road. Station 20 responded with Rescue 20 (4 firefighters), Squad 20 (Lieutenant 20), with 2 firefighters going directly to the scene, and 1 firefighter manning the station. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched the Murrysville Police, and Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One). The direct responding firefighters were first on scene, found that both drivers had self-extricated from the vehicles, and that the roadway was blocked. With the arrival of Rescue 20, and Squad 20, Lieutenant 20 established command. The firefighters found that no fluids leaking from the vehicles, stabilized one of the vehicles, checked both vehicles for the possibility of fire, cleared debris from the highway, and assisted the police in regulating traffic away from the accident site. Station 610 EMS personnel assessed both drivers, and they were taken to a local hospital for evaluation. Gombach Towing arrived and removed both vehicles from the scene. Once the roadway was opened, Command 20 released all Station 20 units for return to service and station.
