At ~ 3:46 PM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a report of a Mulch Bed on Fire at a home on Chelstead Way. Station 20 responded with Engine 20 (6 firefighters including Lieutenant 20), with 2 additional firefighters on standby at the station in case additional apparatus was needed. Engine 20 arrived at the scene, Lieutenant 20 established command, and found that a mulch bed was smoldering. Command 20 cancelled all responding stations except for Station 20 and Station 610. The Engine 20 firefighters extinguished the smoldering mulch bed with a water can fire extinguisher and hand tools.
