At ~ 6:06 PM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for an Automatic Fire Alarm (AFA) at a home on Millstone Court. Station 20 responded with Truck 20 (2 firefighters), with Lieutenant 20 going directly to the scene, and 4 firefighters on standby at the station prepared to bring additional apparatus to the scene. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched the following stations to assist Station 20: Station 78 (Sardis VFC), Station 64 (White Valley VFC), Station 22 (Export VFC), Station 63 (Claridge VFC), Station 170 (Monroeville #4), and Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One). Lieutenant 20 was first on scene, established command, found no smoke coming from the structure, but observed smoke within the structure. Upon arrival of Truck 20, Engine 78 and Engine 64, entry was made, and it was found that an oven cooking accident had produced a large amount of smoke, which activated the AFA System. Command 20 returned all responding units not on scene, and the Station 20/78/64 firefighters removed the item that had caused the smoke, and ventilated the structure. Once the structure was ventilated, the house was turned over to the home owner. All on scene units were returned to service and station.
