At ~ 6:08 PM Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a report of an odor of gasoline in a residential garage on Windgate Drive. Station 20 responded with Rescue 20 (3 firefighters), with Lieutenant 20 going directly to the scene. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched Station 610 to support Station 20. Lieutenant 20 was first on scene, established command, and ensured that the home's occupants had evacuated the structure. Upon the arrival of Rescue 20 and Support 610, the firefighters entered the garage with a 5-Gas Meter and found a leaking gasoline can. The gasoline can was removed from the garage, the spill was remediated, and the structure ventilated. Once the garage was safe, Command 20 turned it over to the homeowner, and returned Rescue 20 and Support 610 to service and station.
