At ~ 4:35 PM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) to assist Station 59 (Slickville VFC) for an Automatic Fire Alarm (AFA) at Salem Millwork and Truss on Industrial Drive in Salem Township. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched the following additional stations to support Station 59: Station 30 (Delmont VFC), Station 64 (White Valley VFC), Station 22 (Export VFC), Station 87 (Harrison City VFC), and Station 90 (Forbes Road VFC). Chief 59 was first on scene, found no smoke or fire coming from the structure, and upon investigation found that a defective AFA Keypad had activated the alarm system. Command 59 cancelled all responding stations, and Truck 20 remained in station and in service.
