At ~ 1:52 PM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) to assist Station 78 (Sardis VFC) for an oven fire at a home on Twelve Oaks Court. Station 20 responded with Truck 20 (4 firefighters including Assistant Chief 20 and Sergeant 20), with 3 firefighters on standby at the station ready to deploy Engine 20. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched Station 22 (Export VFC), Station 64 (White Valley VFC), and Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One). Deputy Chief 78 with Engine 78 was first on scene, established command, ensured that the occupants were evacuated from the home and with its crew entered the home to extinguish the oven. Truck 20 and Engine 22-1 arrived, with Truck 20's crew entering the structure with a Thermal Imaging Camera to ensure that the fire had not spread to any other area of the home. Once the home was ventilated and safe to reenter, Command 78 returned the home to the homeowner, and released all Fire/EMS Units for return to service and station. Truck 20 returned to service and station.
