Commercial Structure Fire - Pytlak's Auto Salvage - Salem Township

At 3:04 PM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) to assist Station 59 (Slickville VFC) for a commercial structure fire at Pytlak's Auto Salvage on Story Road in Salem Township. Station 20 responded with Truck 20 (5 firefighters including Chief 20 and Assistant Chief 20), with 6 additional firefighters(including Captain 20) on standby at the station to cover the response areas of Stations 20, 22, and 64. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched the following stations to support Station 59: Station 30 (Delmont VFC), Station 64 (White Valley VFC), Station 102 (Washington Township VFC), Station 90 (Forbes Road VFC), Station 22 (Export VFC), and Station 131 (Saltsburg VFC). An officer from Station 59 was first on scene, established command, and found fire through the roof of the structure. Units from Stations 59, 30, 64, 22, and 102 arrived on scene to contain and extinguish the fire. Truck 20 arrived on scene, and was held in standby while Chief and Assistant Chief 20 acted as safety officers and support for Command. Once a majority of the fire was extinguished, Command 59 released Truck 20 for return to service and station.
