At ~10:42 PM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a report of a blown electrical transformer on Wilcox Circle. Station 20 responded with Engine 20 (6 firefighters including Assistant Chief 20 and Sergeant 20), with an additional firefighter manning the station. Engine 20 arrived at the location, Assistant Chief 20 established command, found the neighborhood without electricity, and a West Penn Power Truck on scene. Command 20 coordinated with the West Penn Power Technician, and an area search was performed to find the cause of the blown transformer and neighborhood blackout. A downed power line due to a fallen tree was found on Lyons Run Road, and upon arrival of the West Penn Power Technician the incident was turned over to West Penn Power. Command 20 returned Engine 20 to service and station.
