At ~7:54 PM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a report of utility wire down, in front of Ferris Supermarket on Old William Penn Highway. Station 20 responded with Squad 20 (2 firefighters, which was diverted from a previous call on North Hills Road, with Rescue 20 being available to assist once it was released from the previous call). Upon Squad 20's arrival, the senior firefighter established command, and found that a telephone line had been pulled down into the front parking lot. Command 20 relayed the Windstream Pole # to Westmoreland 911, so a repair crew could be dispatched to repair the line, and the Squad 20 firefighters moved the telephone line out of the parking lot roadway to a safe location. With no further fire/rescue services needed at the scene, Squad 20 returned to the station to assist with a Landing Zone Operation to support Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One).
