2-Vehicle Collision - Old William Penn Highway

At ~ 4:15 PM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a 2-Vheicle Collision on Old William Penn Highway in front of Ferris Supermarket. Station 20 responded with Rescue 20 (2 firefighters), with 4 firefighters (including Assistant Chief 20) going directly to the scene, and 2 firefighters on standby at the station. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One), and the Murrysville Police to the scene. Several of the Station 20 Firefighters were first on scene, found that 2 SUVs had collided blocking both lanes of traffic, with debris and leaking fluids on the roadway. Rescue 20, Support 610, Medics 614/616/618, Assistant Chief 20, and the Murrysville Police arrived on scene. The Murrsyville Police had command of the scene, Station 610 EMS evaluated the vehicle occupants and transported one occupant to a local trauma center, while Station 20 firefighters remediated the leaking fluids/debris on the roadway and assisted the police in traffic regulation. Rescue 20 remained on scene until Gombach Towing recovered both vehicles. Once the recovery was complete, Command 20 returned Rescue 20 and all Station 20 personnel to service and station.
