At ~6:35 PM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) to assist Station 78 (Sardis VFC) for an Automatic Fire Alarm (AFA) at a home on Spring Ridge Lane. Station 20 responded with 9 firefighters (including Captain 20 and Lieutenant 20) going to the station to crew Truck 20 and Engine 20, with Chief 20 going directly to the scene. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched the following stations to support Station 78: Station 22 (Export VFC), Station 64 (White Valley VFC), and Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One). Director 610 was first on scene, found no fire or smoke coming from the structure, and found that the home's AFA System had been activated by a cooking accident. Director 610 informed Chief 78 who was enroute, and Chief 78 returned all responding stations to service and station. Truck 20 and Engine 20 remained in service and in station.
