At ~ 1:50 PM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) to assist Station 78 (Sardis VFC) for a 2-vehicle collision with injuries on Remaley Road. Station 20 responded with 8 firefighters (including Assistant Chief 20 and Lieutenant 20) going to the station to crew Rescue 20 and Squad 20. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched Statin 610 (Murrysville Medic One}, and the Murrysville Police for the incident. Engine 78 was the first unit on scene, with Deputy Chief 78 establishing the command, and finding that the roadway was blocked. Command 78 determined that Stations 78 and 610 had sufficient resources to remediate the incident and evaluate/transport the occupants of the vehicles, so Rescue 20 was returned to service as it was departing the station.
