At ~ 4:49 PM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a report of a tree down on electric wires on Staymates Court. Station 20 responded with Squad 20 (2 firefighters including Assistant Chief 20), with Engine 20 (5 firefighters) on standby, and 3 additional firefighters on standby at the station. Squad 20 arrived on scene, with Assistant Chief 20 establishing command. Upon investigation it was found that a windstorm caused a tree to fall onto the electric line, however the roadway was not blocked. There was nothing that the firefighters could do at the scene, and Command 20 notified West Penn Power to dispatch a repair crew to the site to remediate the incident. Command 20 returned Squad 20 and Engine 20 to service and station.
