At ~9:09 PM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a report of an odor of natural gas near the intersection of School Road and Hobaugh Avenue. Station 20 responded with Rescue 20 (4 firefighters) with 3 firefighters (including Assistant Chief 20 and Lieutenant 20) going directly to the scene, and 6 firefighters on standby at the station. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One) and the Murrysville Police for the incident. Lieutenant 20 was first on scene, established the command, and identified a faint smell of natural gas in the area. When Rescue 20 arrived, its crew survey the area with 4-Gas Meters, and found no readable concentrations of natural gas. Command 20 requested that Westmoreland 911 notify Peoples Natural Gas, so a crew could be sent to the area for further readings. Command 20 returned Rescue 20 and Station 610 EMs to service and station.
