At ~ 5:30 PM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for an odor of natural gas in the Logan Ferry Road Area, between Franklin Town Court and Ridgemont Court. Station 20 responded with 12 firefighters (including Captain 20) going to the station to crew Engine 20, Rescue 20, and Squad 20, while Assistant Chief 20 went directly to the area to establish the command, and an additional firefighter manned the station. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One) to support Station 20. The Station 20 units surveyed the area with 4-Gas Meters getting negative readings for the natural gas, and source of the escaping natural gas could not be located. Command 20 relayed the results of the negative search to Westmoreland 911, and requested that Peoples Gas be notified so a gas company crew could be sent to the incident area. Command 20 returned all Station 20 and Station 610 units to service and station.
