At ~ 10:59 AM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) to setup a Helicopter Landing Zone (LZ) at the intersection of PA Route 380 and PA Route 366 for a vehicle collision patient. Station 20 responded with Engine 20 (3 firefighters including Assistant Chief 20), with Chief 20 going directly to the scene, and 5 firefighters on standby at the station. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched Station 78 (Sardis VFC) and Station 170 (Monroeville Fire Company #4). Engine 20 arrived, and Assistant Chief 20 established command. Engine 20's and Engine 42's crew setup the LZ, Medic 618 arrived with the patient, and STAT MedEvac Aerial Ambulance #4 arrived to transport the patient to a Pittsburgh Trauma Center. Once the aerial ambulance had departed, Engines 20's and 42's crew broke down the LZ, and Command 20 returned all units to service and station.
