Commercial Automatic Fire Alarm - Redstone-Murrysville

At ~1:23 PM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for an Automatic Fire Alarm (AFA) at Redstone-Murrysville. Station 20 responded with Engine 20 (2 firefighters), with 2 firefighters (including Chief 20) going directly to the scene, and 3 firefighters preparing to crew Rescue 20. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched the following stations to support Station 20: Station 64 (White Valley VFC), Station 170 (Monroeville #4), Station 78 (Sardis VFC), Station 22 (Export VFC), Station 87 (Harrison City VFC), Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One), and the Murrysville Police. The direct responding Station 20 firefighters arrived on scene, the command was established, and no fire or smoke was observed coming from the structure. Upon investigation it was found that a hot plate had activated the structure AFA System, and the staff had remediated the incident. Command 20 returned all responding stations. Engine 20 returned to service and station.
