April 14, 2021

During the evening of 14 April 2021, the firefighters of the Murrysville Volunteer Fire Company (Station 20) participated in Vehicle Rescue Training at the Station 20 Fire Grounds on Sardis Road. The firefighters received training in the use of Cribbing, Struts, and Air Bags carried on Rescue 20. These tools are used to stabilize vehicles involved in collisions including rollovers, in order to provide a safe environment for the extrication of vehicle occupants from a collision. This training not only trains the new firefighters on fire/rescue equipment and procedures, but provide refresher training for the veteran firefighters of the company. This training session is part of the 2021 Company Integrated Training Program, which will allow the Murrysville Volunteer Fire Company to provide more effective Fire/Rescue Services for the residents and businesses within its primary and mutual aid response areas.
