At ~ 4:58 PM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 for a 1-vehicle collision on Sardis Road. Station 20 responded with Rescue 20 (2 firefighters - Captain 20 and Lieutenant 20), Squad 20 (3 firefighters including Sergeant 20), with 2 firefighters going directly to the scene, and 3 firefighters on station standby. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched the Murrysville Police and Murrysville Medic One (Station 610) for the incident. Rescue 20 was the first unit on scene, finding a motorcycle lying on the road with it’s operator. Captain 20 established the command until the Murrysville Police arrived, and Lieutenant 20 provided basic patient care for the motorcycle operator until Station 610 EMS arrived on scene. The direct responding firefighters assisted the Murrysville Police with traffic regulation, and Captain 20 returned Squad 20 as additional fire/rescue services were not needed. Medic 614 transported the motorcycle operator to a local trauma center for evaluation. Once the motorcycle was recovered, the Murrysville Police released Rescue 20, the direct responding Station 20 firefighters, and Medic 618 for return to service and station.
