2- Vehicle Collision with Entrapment - Old William Penn Highway

At ~ 8:45 AM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a 2-Vehicle Collision on Old William Penn Highway. Station 20 responded with Rescue 20 (3 firefighters including Assistant Chief 20), Engine 20 (2 firefighters), with 1 firefighter manning the station. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One) and the Murrysville Police for the collision. Rescue 20 arrived to find the 2 vehicles in the roadway, with the Murrysville Police in command of the scene, and Old William Penn Highway closed between Sardis Road and William Penn Highway Intersections. Rescue 20's crew used hydraulic extrication tools to open up one vehicle to enable the extraction of its operator by Station 610 EMS. Medic 614 transported the operator to a local trauma center. Gombach Towing recovered the vehicles. The Murrysville Police reopened Old William Penn Highway, and released Rescue 20 and Engine 20 for return to service and station.
