At ~ 4:37 PM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a report of a tree that had fallen across Sardis Road into utility lines and partially blocking the roadway. Station 20 responded with Engine 20 (4 firefighters), with Assistant Chief 20 going directly to the scene, and 1 firefighter manning the station. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One), and the Murrysville Police for the incident. Engine 20, Support 610, and Assistant Chief 20 arrived on scene finding that a tree had fallen across the roadway, into the telephone lines on the opposite side of the road. The Murrysville Police with the assistance of Engine 20 and Support 610 closed the roadway, and the Windstream Pole # was relayed to Westmoreland 911 so a crew could be dispatched to the site to remove the tree. A tree cutting crew removed the tree, clearing the roadway. Once the roadway was clear, the Murrysville Police reopened Sardis Road for traffic, and Command 20 returned Engine 20 to service and station.
