At ~3:10 PM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for an Automatic Fire Alarm (AFA) at the Franklin Regional Intermediate School (FRIS) on Sardis Road. Station 20 responded with Truck 20 (4 firefighters including Assistant Chief 20), with 7 firefighters on Station standby with Engine 20 and Rescue 20. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched the following additional stations to support Station 20: Station 78 (Sardis VFC), Station 22 (Export VFC), Station 64 (White Valley VFC), Station 87 (Harrison City VFC), and Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One). The FRIS Staff informed Command 20 that an unshielded AFA Pull Station had been hit during a basketball game in the school gym, activating the structure's AFA System, and there was no fire. Command 20 held the incident to Truck 20, which proceeded to the scene to confirm the situation. Truck 20 arrived on scene, the firefighters entered the school and after confirming there was no fire, reset the structure's AFA System. Command 20 returned Truck 20 to service and station.
