During 18 September 2021, firefighters from Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) and Station 22 (Export VFC) conducted Interior Live Burn and Ladder Truck Employment Training at the Westmoreland County Community College (WCCC) Public Safety Training Center (PSTC) in South Huntingdon Township. This training event enabled interior firefighters from both stations to train on the entry of a structure, to observe the characteristics of an interior fire, and extinguish that fire before the structure becomes fully involved. Further the ladder truck drivers in training, were able to train on the placement and employment of Truck 20 for multi-level structure operations. Finally this training between neighboring stations enable the firefighters to develop teamwork, that is necessary at any multi-station incident. This training event is part of Station 20's ongoing 2021 training program, and firefighters from both participating stations are looking forward to further joint training exercises.
