At ~3:17 PM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a report of a structure fire at a home on Mayer Drive. Station 20 responded with Truck 20 (3 firefighters including Assistant Chief 20 and Lieutenant 20), Engine 20 (3 firefighters including Chief 20), with 2 firefighters (including Sergeant 20) going directly to the scene, and 5 firefighters (including Captain 20) on station standby with Rescue 20. Westmorland 911 also dispatched the following additional stations to support Station 20: Station 9 (Level Green VFC), Station 22 (Export VFC), Station 64 (White Valley VFC), Station 78 (Sardis VFC), Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One), and the Murrysville Police. Sergeant 20 was first on scene, established the command, found smoke coming from the home, ensured that the occupants had evacuated the structure and used an extinguisher to make a knock on the fire. Truck 20 was the first unit on scene, and its interior firefighter crew entered the structure using SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) and used a water can fire extinguisher to extinguish the remainder of the fire. Engine 20, Engine 9-2, Squad 22, Support 610, and the Murrysville Police arrived on scene; and Command 20 returned all remaining enroute units. The combined interior firefighters surveyed the home for any extension of the fire, and the structure was ventilated. Once the structure was safe for reentry, Command 20 returned the home to the owner. Command 20 returned all on scene units (including Truck 20 and Engine 20) to service and station.
