At ~10:17 AM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a report of a combined utility pole and brush fire at the intersection of Gun Club Road and Edinburg Drive. Station 20 responded with Engine 20 (5 firefighters), with Assistant Chief 20 going directly to the scene. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched the Murrysville Police and Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One) for the incident. Assistant Chief 20 arrived on scene, established the command, and found a utility pole on fire with the electric line fuses blown and a minor brush fire. The Murrysville Police blocked off the incident site, with Medic 613 and Support 610 taking up supporting positions. Upon Engine 20's arrival its crew extinguished the pole/brush fire, while Command 20 relayed the utility pole number to Westmoreland 911 so West Penn Power could dispatch a repair crew to the site. Engine 20 remained on scene until the initial West Penn Power representative arrived at the site. Upon the transfer of site responsibility to West Penn Power, Command 20 returned Engine 20 and all Station 610 units to service and station.
