At ~6:38 AM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for an Automatic Fire Alarm (AFA) at Redstone Highlands on Cline Hollow Road. Station 20 responded with Truck 20 (3 firefighters), with 3 firefighters (including Assistant Chief 20) going directly to the scene, and 1 firefighter/driver on station standby. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched the following additional stations to support Station 20: Station 22 (Export VFC), Station 64 (White Valley VFC), Station 78 (Sardis VFC), Station 87 (Harrison City VFC), and Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One). A direct responding Station 20 firefighter was first on scene and found no fire or smoke coming from the structure. Assistant Chief 20 arrived on scene, established the command, and positioned the responding units around the structure. Interior firefighters entered the structure and found that the air compressor of the structure's sprinkler system had failed, thus setting off the AFA System. The incident was turned over to the facility maintenance staff, and Command 20 returned all responding units including Truck 20 to service and station. |
