At ~ 2:01 PM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a 3-vehicle collision in the eastbound lanes of William Penn Highway at the Trafford Road Intersection. Station 20 responded with Rescue 20 (4 firefighters including Captain 20), with 2 firefighters (including Sergeant 20) going directly to the scene, and 3 firefighters on station standby with Squad 20. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched the Murrysville Police and Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One) for the incident. Rescue 20 and the direct responding firefighters arrived on scene, to find 3-vehicles blocking the eastbound lanes of William Penn Highway, the Murrysville Police in command of the scene, and Station 610 EMS evaluating the vehicle occupants. The firefighters cleared debris and fluids from the roadway, while Station 610 EMS transported one person to a local trauma center for further evaluation and treatment. Gombach Towing recovered the vehicles, and once the roadway was open, the Murrysville Police released Rescue 20 for return to service and station. |
