At ~5:50 AM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) to setup and operate a Helicopter Landing Zone (LZ) in support of a patient transfer between Murrysville Medic One (Station 610) and LifeFlight Aerial Ambulance Service. Station 20 responded with Engine 20 (9 firefighters including Chief 20, Deputy Chief 20, and Lieutenant 20). Chief 20 established the command, while Engine 20 assumed a standby position, and its crew established the LZ in the Station 20 Fire Grounds Parking Areat. LifeFlight 5 arrived on scene, and Station 610 EMS transferred the patient from the ground ambulance to LifeFlight 5. Upon departure of the aerial ambulance, Station 20 firefighters collapsed the LZ, and Command 20 returned Engine 20 to service and station.
