At ~1:08 AM, Westmoreland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a vehicle fire in the parking lot adjacent to the Kentucky Fried Chicken on William Penn Highway. Station 20 responded with Engine 20 (4 firefighters including Chief 20), Squad 20 (Deputy Chief 20), with Assistant Chief 20 responding directly to the scene, and 1 firefighter manning the station. Westmoreland 911 also dispatched Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One), Station 78 (Sardis VFC), and the Murrysville Police for the incident. Engine 20 arrived to find a car fully involved, and Chief 20 established the command. Engine 20 and Squad 20 crews used an attack line to extinguish the fire and Absorbent HAZMAT Pads to remediate any vehicle fluids from getting into the nearby storm sewer. Tanker 78 arrived on scene to provide Engine 20 with an additional water supply, while Medic 617 took a support position. Once the fire was extinguished and the vehicle declared ready for removal by Command 20, Gombach Towing recovered the vehicle. The Station 20 Firefighter removed the fire debris, and Command 20 returned all on scene units to service and station.
