At ~10:04 AM, Westmorland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) to assist Station 64 (White Valley VFC) for a 2-Vehicle Collision involving a Tractor Trailer and an automobile car at the intersection of William Penn Highway (US Route 22) and Harrison City Road. Station 20 responded with Rescue 20 (4 firefighters) and Engine 20 (1 Firefighter) with Assistant Chief 20 and Captain 20 going directly to the scene. Westmorland 911 also dispatched Station 87 (Harrison City VFC), Station 22 (Export VFC), Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One), and the Murrysville Police for the incident. Rescue 20 and Engine 20 arrived on scene, to find both vehicles in the middle of the intersection with both automobile occupants entrapped, and fuel and debris from both vehicles on the roadway. The Murrysville Police were in command of the overall scene and had diverted traffic around the intersection, with Assistant Chief 20 directing the extrication of the automobile passengers and immediate remediation of the leaking vehicle fluids by the combined Fire-Rescue Crews; while Station 610 EMS provided medical treatment to the passengers and assisted the Fire-Rescue crews during the extrication. Once the occupants of the automobile had been extricated, Medic 617 and Medic 618 transported them to a local Trauma Center for evaluation and treatment. Command 20 returned Rescue 87, Squad 22, and Engine 20 to service and station. Rescue 20 and Rescue 64 remained on scene, to complete the remediation of the vehicle fluids and debris from the scene, support the investigation of the collision by the Pennsylvania State Police and Murrysville Police, and assist Gombach Towing in the recovery of the vehicles from the highway. Once the investigation was complete, and the roadway cleared; the Murrysville Police released all remaining Fire-Rescue units. Rescue 20 returned to service and station.
