At 10:24 hours, Station 20 was dispatched for a reported garage fire on Lillian Avenue at Boyd's House of Style. Engine 20 was on a detail at Branthoover Cutoff and was on scene within minutes with Chief 20 with the Lillian Avenue command. The driver and Chief stretched a line to the garage and made a quick knockdown. At this time the call was held to Engine and Truck 20. Truck 20's crew provided manpower for overhaul and to put out a few remaining hot spots. The fire was caused by a burn barrel that was located too close to the garage. The garage suffered damage to the roof, fascia, and man door. Crews were out for a half hour.
