| At 16:37 hours, Station 20 was dispatched to 2665 Berlin Farm Road for the house fire assisting Station 64. Shortly after the call was dispatched, Chief 78 arrived and reported a working house fire with heavy smoke showing from the Delta side of the roof. Engine 22 was first on scene taking the address and stretched an attack line to the interior. Attack 64 picked up the hydrant at Grant and Berlin Farm and supplied Engine 22. The fire was determined to have started in the basement and had actively progressed through the interior walls, floors, and attic. Crews from Ladder 87, Truck 20, Engine and SOC 78 opened up walls and ceilings on the first and second divisions while trying to control the deep seated fire. The fire was marked under control within an hour and a half. Salvage 63 handled the remaining salvage work and mop up. Companies were released as they picked up. Medic One provided medical and rehab services. Murrysville PD provided traffic control shutting down Berlin Farm Road. The PSP Fire Marshal is currently investigating the cause and origin of the fire that displaced two adults and seven children. |
