| At this evening's Council meeting, Murrysville VFC was approved to proceed with purchasing a 2013 Sutphen Monarch to replace our 1986 E-One engine. The new Engine 20 will be purchased through Jeff Britt Fire Apparatus Sales and Service. Some of the features of the new engine will include: • 32'7" overall length, 200" wheelbase and approximately 42,000 pounds
In the coming months, the truck committee will travel to Sutphen in Amlin, OH for a pre-build conference. The new Engine 20 will be in service by the end of 2013, and will join our 2002 Sutphen Tower Ladder and 2007 Sutphen/Precision Rescue. Thanks to Jeff Britt and his sales staff (Steve Darcangelo and Tom Freeman), Murrysville Council, Murrysville staff, members of MVFC, and our sister companies (64 and 78 for helping us through the process of specifying a replacement engine. The new engine will provide many years of service to the Municipality. |
