At ~1:15 AM Westmorland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville Volunteer Fire Company) for a single vehicle auto accident at US Route 22 and Gates Avenue. Station 20 responded with Rescue 20 (3 personnel including Captain 20), Lieutenant 20 responded to the scene, and a additional firefighter manned the station. Upon Rescue 20 arrival at the scene, it was found that a car had driven off the east bound lanes and hit a utility pole along side US Route 22. The Murrysville Police, Murrysville Medic One, and Lieutenant 20 were on the scene and were removing the driver from the vehicle. Rescue 20 personnel assisted placing the driver in the ambulance, disconnected the vehicle battery (to prevent a possible electrical induced fire), and remediated leaking engine fluids from the vehicle. Rescue 20 personnel assisted the tow truck operator in the removal of the vehicle and were released from the scene by the Murrysville Police. Rescue 20 returned to station at ~ 2:15 AM.
