At ~12:19 PM Westmorland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville Volunteer Fire Company) to 4075 William Penn Highway (near Lillian Avenue) for a three vehicle accident - with one driver suffering a medical emergency. Station 20 responded with Rescue 20 (3 firefighters), Engine 20 (3 firefighters), with Chief 20 responding directly to the scene, and 1 additional firefighter at Station 20 on standby. Upon arrival at the scene, the car and its driver were in the medial area of the highway with both the Murrysville Police and Murrysville Medic One were on scene. Station 20 units blocked the east bound lanes of William Penn Highway, and rerouted the eastbound traffic around the incident scene through a business parking lot to Lillian Avenue and back onto eastbound William Penn Highway. Murrysville Medic One personnel removed the driver from the car and transported him to a local hospital. The patient's vehicle was fully operational, and Station 20 personnel under the direction of the Murrysville Police moved the vehicle from the medial area into a nearby parking lot for recovery by a towing service. There was no debris or leaking fluids from the vehicle. After moving the vehicle, the Murrysville Police released all Station 20 Units and Personnel for return to station.
