At ~10:05 AM, Armstrong 911 (in place of Westmoreland 911) dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for smoke in a house at 3976 Murry Highlands Circle. Station 20 responded with Truck 20 (5 firefighters including Captain 20 and Lieutenant 20), with 2 firefighters responding to the scene (including Chief 20), and Assistant Chief 20 responding to Station 20 in case additional apparatus was required. Armstrong 911 also activated Station 64 (White Valley VFC), Station 78 (Sardis VFC), Station 22 (Export VFC), and Station 9 (Level Green VFC). The first Station 20 firefighter arriving on scene was able to gain access to the house, and found that the kitchen refrigerator was smoking, which was unplugged and moved from the wall. Upon Truck 20's arrival on scene, the house was surveyed and no additional fire source was found. All units except for Engine 64 were cancelled enroute by Chief 20. The scene was turned over to the Murrysville Police, and Chief 20 released all units to return to station.
