At ~10:45 AM, Westmorland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a report of electric lines on the roadway near the intersection of Pleasant Valley Road and Lyons Run Road. Station 20 responded with Engine 20 (3 firefighters) with 2 additional firefighters (including Lieutenant 20) going directly to the scene. Upon Engine 20's arrival, it was found that a tree had fallen into the utility lines, which in turn knocked several electric lines across the roadway, and disrupted the telephone and cable lines. Engine 20 relayed the utility pole number to Westmorland 911, and requested that the utility companies respond to the scene to repair the damage. Engine 20's crew then blocked the roadway and regulated traffic until the Murrysville Police and the West Penn Power crews arrived on scene. Lieutenant 20 released Engine 20 from the scene once West Penn Power's crews had arrived.
