Commercial Automatic Fire Alarm

At ~11:28 AM, Westmorland 911 dispatched Station 20 for a Commercial Automatic Fire Alarm at the Ives Eyecare Center on Old William Penn Highway. Station 20 responded with Truck 20 (3 firefighters including Captain 20), Engine 20 (2 firefighters), with Chief 20 and Lieutenant 20 responding directly to the scene, and 2 additional firefighters manning Station 20 incase additional equipment was needed at the scene. Also dispatched to assist Station 20 were Station 64 (White Valley VFD), Station 22 (Export VFD), Station 78 (Sardis VFC), and Station 236 (Holiday Park VFD). Chief 20 and Lieutenant 20 were first on scene and observed a light haze of smoke in the structure. Truck 20 was the first fire unit on scene, its crew effected initial entry into the building using Thermal Imagery Camera and Multi-Gas Meter to survey the structure, with Engine 20 prepared to supply water from the nearest hydrant. In the primary search and subsequent secondary surveys of the structure no fire was found. A furnace motor was determined to be seized. The unit was shutoff. Chief 20 released all responding units for return to Station.
