4:47 PM, Westmorland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC), to assist Station 78 (Sardis VFC) for a report of a Residential Structure Fire at a home on Saltsburg Road. Station 20 responded Truck 20 (4 firefighters), with Asst. Chief 20 going directly to the scene, and 5 additional firefighters (including Lieutenant 20) going to Station 20 to crew Engine 20. Westmorland 911 also dispatched Station 64 (White Valley VFD) and Station 102 (Washington Township VFD) to assist Station 78. Assistant Chief 20 was first firefighter on scene, and the fire was contained to the oven within the kitchen. Engine 78 was the first fire apparatus on scene, found that the home owner had extinguished the fire, and Engine 78's crew ventilated the home. Command 78 cancelled all responding stations except for Station 78. Truck 20 return to station.
