At ~6:24 AM, Westmorland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for an Automatic Fire Alarm at Atrias Restaurant on William Penn Highway. Station 20 responded with Engine 20 (2 firefighters including Lieutenant 20). Westmorland 911 dispatched the following stations to assist Station 20: Station 64 (White Valley VFD), Station 22 (Export VFD), Station 78 (Sardis VFC), and Station 87 (Harrison City VFD). Asst. Chief 64 was first on scene, found no fire or smoke, and relayed that information to Engine 20. Upon Engine 20's arrival, Lieutenant 20 took command of the scene and cancelled all responding units except for Engine 20. Engine 20's crew performed a secondary search of the restaurant and found that the fire alarm system had malfunctioned. Lieutenant 20 recommended to the restaurant manager that the alarm system company be notified in order to repair the defective fire alarm system. Lieutenant 20, released Engine 20 for return to service and station.
