At ~9:22 AM, Westmorland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a report of utility lines burning on a pole, just east of the William Penn Highway and Old William Penn Highway (Wendy's) Intersection. Station 20 responded with Engine 20 (2 firefighters including Lieutenant 20), with 2 firefighters (including Assistant Chief 20) going directly to the scene, and 2 additional firefighters (including Chief 20) at Station 20 incase additional equipment was needed. When Engine 20 arrived on scene, it was found that a splice box next to a utility pole was burning, and Engine 20's crew extinguished the fire. Lieutenant 20 requested that Westmorland 911 notify Windstream of the damage to the telephone line so repairs could be made. Lieutenant 20 released Engine 20 for return to service and station.
