At ~1:55 AM, Westmorland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a report of downed utility lines at Murrysville Rehab and Wellness. Station 20 responded with Rescue 20 (2 firefighters including Captain 20), Squad 20 (Lieutenant 20), with 2 additional firefighters at Station 20 incase additional apparatus was needed. Westmorland 911 also dispatched Station 610 (Medic One) to support Station 20. Upon arrival at the scene, it was found that a garbage truck had snagged an overhead telephone line, which broke a utility pole on Logan Ferry Road downing the electric and phone lines. Murrysville Police passed the utility pole number to Westmorland 911, and requested that West Penn Power and Windstream be dispatched to the scene to remediate the breakage. Station 20 firefighters assisted the Murrysville Police by erecting traffic barriers on Logan Ferry Road for the duration of the utility line repairs. Upon arrival of the West Penn Power crews, all Station 20/610 units and personnel returned to service and station.
