At ~6:15 PM, Westmorland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a vehicle off the road in a ditch near the intersection of Pleasant Valley Road and Wyant Circle due to icy road conditions. Station 20 responded with 5 firefighters going to Station 20 to crew Rescue 20, however the unit remained in station due to winter storm conditions, while a nearby Station 20 firefighter proceeded directly to the scene to evaluate the situation. The Station 20 firefighter found that the Murrysville Police Department was already at the scene and had temporarily closed Pleasant Valley Road due to the icy road conditions from the winter storm. The driver had self-extricated from the vehicle, and the Murrysville Police had the Murrysville Public Works responding to treat the road, and a local towing service to retrieve the car. The Murrysville Police released all Station 20 personnel and equipment.
