At ~3:52 AM, Westmorland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) to assist Station 78 (Sardis VFC) for an Automatic Fire Alarm (AFA) at Respironics on Murry Ridge Lane. Station 20 responded with Truck 20 (4 firefighters), with an additional firefighter manning Station 20. Westmorland 911 also dispatched the following additional stations to assist Station 78: Station 102, Station 183, Station 170, Station 236, Station 115, Station 54, and Station 56. Engine 78 was first on scene, found no visible fire or smoke, and Chief 78 established command of the scene. Upon Truck 20's arrival, Chief 78 directed that it was to remain in a standby position to set its 100 foot platform ladder, and send all available firefighters to the command post to join the interior search teams. The interior search teams made entry into the structure, and searched the structure using four-gas meters and thermal imagery cameras, however no fire or smoke were detected. With the negative results from the interior search, Chief 78 released Truck 20 and its firefighters for return to service and station.
