At 4:56 PM, Westmorland 911 dispatched Station 20 (Murrysville VFC) for a Chimney Fire at a home on Forbes Trail Drive. Station 20 responded with Truck 20 (5 firefighters), Engine 20 (2 firefighters), with Sergeant 20 going directly to the scene, and 2 additional firefighters manning Station 20. Westmorland 911 dispatched the following additional stations to assist Station 20: Station 64 (White Valley VFC), Station 78 (Sardis VFC), Station 22 (Export VFC), and Station 610 (Murrysville Medic One). Truck 20 was first on scene, the senior firefighter established command and found there was no fire or smoke showing. The homeowner indicated that he had used home fire extinguishers to put out the fire. Truck 20's crew raised a ground ladder to inspect and clear the chimney, and entered the home to inspect/clear the firebox. Sergeant 20 assessed that Station 20 units were adequate to remediate the incident, and released all assisting stations. Upon completion of the clearance of the home's chimney, inspection of the interior near the fireplace, and home's roof near the chimney, Sergeant 20 returned all Station 20 units to service and station.
